One Blood by Terence Jay

Some time ago I raved about the movie Green Street, which stars Elijah Wood and revolves around hooliganism at West Ham. In my Desert Island Discs posting a few days ago I chose a song from the soundtrack by Terence Jay called One Blood. I've just found the song on Youtube. Have a listen. I warn you now that the movie excerpt is very very violent - so violent in fact that I couldn't watch some of it. What a wuss. But the song is amazing. A bit like Mark Knopfler. Anyway, listen, rather than watch!

I hope whovere recorded that is paying a hefty royalty to Mark Knopfler for nicking Brothers In Arms wholesale (and paying compensation in top for doing it so badly).

It is not posible to 'listen rather than watch'. It is shocking, truly shocking. It is kind of you to 'share' this favourite song. The video somehow encapsulates humanity's predisposition to hate his neighbour. No matter how hard politicians try, they will never be able to overcome that propensity.

Looks good. At some point I didn't notice, the song stopped and we were watching the movie instead.

But - and I know this has been said before - Elijah Wood as a hooligan? Purleease... He tries, bless him, but every time he tries and looks hard, he looks like he's psyching himself up to go one more round with Golom.

Sorry Iain, but I found it disgusting, the sentimental music adding an extra layer of hypocrisy to the pornographic violence. I expect the director will have sold the film as a morality tale; the young men who thrill to it won't see it that way. They'll leave the cinema spoiling for a fight. They'll stab a decent lad on a train, or outside a school gate.

Bebopper, if you saw the whole film it would give you a very different perspective.

moral of the story is don't wind up the lunatic about his dead son....reminds me of the time i was down a snooker club and heard the following conversation between 2 men.

Man A: What did you get up to last night.

Man B: just stayed in and watched a few videos with the Missus.

Man A: Oh what did you watch

Man B: Well...Scum, I.D and Romper Stomper.

Man A: Nice!

Video is a bit rubbish isn't it. Song sounds a little like Brothers In Arms in tempo - but not that good in my opinion.

How about violence can become palatable if is the price of selfworth and companionship. Hence what else may be secodary and ignored by us if they are part a greater need?

ok, here is the story, I am a 20 year old guy , and I adore this film because I feel this is a portrayal of modern day thugs and hooligans. The " more senior" people commenting on this video should really wake up and smell the coffee that this is only a film, a modern day classic, when compared with the utter disgrace of the films of the older generation, makes it seem all the better, because fools take film "fiction" for granted

I was really excited to find this song here, I really loved it and have had a hard time locating it. This movie is very moving, has a good story and there is a lot more behind it then just the violence that you see here in this clip. For those of you making negitive comments about it, watch it first then judge don't just judge first. Talk about stupidity. Do you do that in life? Prejudge things just cause they are a little different and maybe even a little scary? Grow up! Get the facts first then you can draw your conclusion. You have these "high and mighty" statements to make but you don't even know what you are commenting on.... I really like this movie and I am an itelligent 23 year old woman so... i guess that says something about you so called "grown men"
