Good to know that Charles Clarke won't be short of a bob or two. He's just been hired by law fim Beachcroft. According to The Lawyer.com Clarke has been hired to "give advice on strategy, positioning and policy for Beachcroft and its clients". I wonder if "exit strategies" come under his remit. Clarke joins former Tory Cabinet Minister Lord Hunt of the Wirral on the payroll.
Senior partner Simon Hodson said the appointment would bring a “fresh, new perspective” to the firm. It is to be hoped that Beachcroft do not have any dealings with H MTreasury after Mr Clarke's little outburst at the weekend.
Clarke said he believed the role would help him appreciate the challenges facing the commercial world. Sadly, I cannot report how much he is being paid.
